Northern Debaters Forum Announces 2024/2025 National Debate Final
The Northern Debaters Forum (NorDeF) is set to host the grand finale of its 2024/2025 Inter-School National Debate competition, bringing together some of the brightest young minds from secondary schools across Northern Ghana to deliberate on one of the region’s most pressing challenges.

Event Details
The highly anticipated debate final will take place on Saturday, January 17th, 2026 at 9:30 AM at the prestigious Ganass Hotel in Bolgatanga.

Debate Topic
This year’s competition will tackle the provocative and timely motion: “The Fight Against Poverty in Northern Ghana is a Lost Battle.” This challenging topic invites students to critically examine poverty alleviation efforts, development initiatives, and the socio-economic realities facing Northern Ghana, encouraging deep analysis of both the progress made and the obstacles that remain.

Four distinguished educational institutions will compete in this year’s final:

  • Bolgatanga Girls Senior High School
  • Tamale Girls Senior High School
  • Sawla Senior High School
  • St. Francis of Assisi Girls Senior High School

Razak Z. Abdul-Korah – Guest of Honour
Serving as the Upper East Regional Director of Education, Mr. Abdul-Korah’s presence underscores the educational significance of this competition.

Dr. Aaron Issah Anafure – Special Guest
A Finance and Insurance Expert and Council Member of the Bolgatanga Technical University, Dr. Anafure’s expertise will provide valuable insights into the economic dimensions of the debate topic.

Tebon Zumah – Executive Director
